How much meat should you expect?

We harvest yearling lambs in the spring, and they come in at 45-55 lbs hanging weight. That will typically yield 20-30 ‘dressed’ pounds of trimmed and wrapped meat.

Plan to have 1 cubic foot of freezer space for every 15 pounds of meat. Your lamb share will fit just fine in a standard freezer compartment.

Pricing

You’ll make payments to both our farm and the butcher based on the hanging weight of the animal. Here’s a breakdown:

Payment to Farm ($8.00/lb hanging weight) + Payment to Butcher ($80 slaughter fee + $0.63/lb process and wrap fee)

For example, an average lamb might cost:

Payment to Farm ($400) + Payment to Butcher ($80 + $20) = $500 Total
