Icelandic Sheep

We raise Icelandic Sheep, a hearty animal with gorgeous wool and gourmet meat that is raised as a triple purpose animal in it’s country of origin- where they are prized for their fiber, milk, and lamb. Icelandic sheep are less prone to parasite pressure and illness than the larger domestic breeds commonly kept in the United States, and gain on rougher forage than their American counterparts, too. Our ewes have excellent mothering ability and lamb unassisted each spring, often in the field. These smaller bodied sheep are an excellent fit for our heavy clay soils, which suffer from soil compaction if grazed by heavier livestock like cattle. We prefer lamb to beef, and these Icelandics are a true delicacy.

Our flock is dutifully protected by the ever vigilant Billie, who is the best livestock guardian dog any regenerative farm could hope for.
